It’s time to face your fear
Cause when your time has come and gone
I’ll be the one to carry on
And you can throw me to the wolves
Cause I am undefeatable

" When your time has come and gone,
I’ll be the one to carry on. "
Cerysia Avenheim
Princess of Langradios
Just as the winds howl unbounded, so too can the one life you've ever known find itself scattered to the ether.
Upon the outer rim of the galaxy, a lineage now lies in ruin. Yet their final ember refuses to be quenched.Cerysia is a wandering Princess who was forced to escape from the splendour of Imperial royalty and leave the planet Langradios behind: the distant, highly-advanced world at the galaxy's edge which she once called home. Why, one might ask? Not by choice, but rather by cold necessity: Cerysia's exile is the result of a malevolent and bloodthirsty rebellion from within the starbound Empire - a rebellion which culminated in the eradication of her entire lineage. Progenitors of the planet's legacy as manipulators of Dark Matter - her parents, the late King and Queen who once helmed authority - were mercilessly cut down, and both the family throne, and their dark-matter technology, were usurped by the hands of greed.Rendered the last surviving member of the Avenheim bloodline, Cerysia now traverses the stars and presses forward in the only way she knows how: by fostering new alliances, by amassing a new following, and striking back at the heart of the vicious coup which took away everything she once held dear. Pawn by pawn, Cerysia cuts down the rebellion in her quest for vengeance - and ultimately, strives for the restoration of the Avenheim name to the throne of Langradios: claiming the seat of power upon the planet that's rightfully hers.Through the fortunate conspiracies of the stars, the Princess is far from alone in her endeavors. Nestled between her fingertips lurks a coveted blade - the Iniquity - which bears the artificial intelligence of a long-fallen Ember King known as Shinsaku: a King who empathises with Cerysia's current state of affairs. Lending the Princess his strength through the blade, Cerysia has become privy to a plethora of arcane knowledge, further fuelling her abilities in combat so that she may go toe-to-toe with the rebellion that desecrated her family name, and reclaim her Empire anew.

POWERS & ABILITIES

WEAPON - INIQUITY: A coveted greatsword with technology that apparently transcends the age from whence it was forged. In truth, the Iniquity was developed eons ago by the Masq, a highly-intelligent race who would conquer Mas: the planet of the Southern Suns, and overthrow the regime of Shinsaku - the Ember King. After the Ember King's rulership was toppled, Shinsaku's consciousness was fused to the blade by the Masq as an Artificial Intelligence, damning him to a perpetual existence where the release of death would never be granted. Fully sentient, Shinaku speaks to Cerysia through the blade, lending her his wealth of arcane firepower which she channels through the weapon in combat.
PASSIVE - VETERAN: The Princess bears rather high physical ability due to her training, enabling her to endure drawn out battles, travel far distances without fatigue and even defend herself against soldiers, monsters and mechanical constructs alike.
PASSIVE - RIFT CREATION: Using the Iniquity, Cerysia can carve a rift in the fabric of space to manifest a portal back to the planet of Langradios at any time. To travel to other destinations, however - Cerysia must first journey to them through conventional means. Only when she carves out an 'ember seal' within the terrain, can she subsequently create a portal to and from this destination.
ACTIVE - ANGRIFF: Cerysia charges forward, dealing an innumerable series of swift cuts from her blade, designed to bleed her target dry. The intention being to weaken larger targets through gradual damage rather than dealing an outright heavy hit.
ACTIVE - MANIA: Driving her blade into the ground, Cerysia unleashes a wave of scorching flames which shoot out in multiple directions to ensure her target is engulfed in the fires of Hell.
ACTIVE - AURA: Induces extremely minor healing, in a pinch. Her weakest ability, and only semblance of defensive magic, hence why she enjoys the company of medics.
Chronicles
Fall of the Dark Matter Imperium
" Your problems will always catch up with you,
no matter how far you make your flight.
To overcome a plight, you must
confront it head-on. "

Langradios: a massive, distant world located upon the outer rim of the galaxy, was once governed by the Avenheim lineage. Long-standing rulers over the planet, the Avenheim family originated as scientists and researchers who developed technology capable of harnessing and controlling a once understood, perpetual resource of power: dark matter. Through this discovery pioneered by the Avenheim family, the course of the planet's future would be changed forever. Advanced technology would blossom to adorn the planet's landscape, fuelled by the seemingly boundless energy of dark matter. To an outside perspective, one could consider this power of a 'magical' nature. A power the Avenheim lineage would use to usher in a new age of prosperity to the planet of Langradios as a global, and steadfast monarchy. The only child of King Faust and Queen Velka, Cerysia would be born and raised beneath the scrutiny of the Empire. The lone successor to the legacy of the Avenheim, instilled in her was a simple mantra: that a prospective ruler must be capable of grace with just the right pinch of ruthlessness, should adversity rear its ugly head. Hence - within the walls of the Imperial palace, upon the island of Titaneos, Cerysia spent her early years indulging in royal splendor - shaped into a young woman of elegance and demure, yet commanding and well-versed in the art of battle. At the time, people revered the Avenheim family for their fair rule and the power afforded to the masses by harnessing dark matter. However, within the ranks of the Imperium's vast military, there were the beginnings of a stir: the sin of greed, the gaze of envy - the desire for mutiny. It was an inside job: helmed by the general of the Imperial army. Growing tired peaceful tedium, General Logor had greater aspirations. The unbridled power of dark matter that fuelled the entire planet would be better utilized to dominate and expand the territory of Langradios. The Avenheim name, in his eyes, now held the world back - becoming stagnant and contented to spin its wheels for the sake of peace. Thus, the General plotted to topple the monarchy from within - and usurp the throne in the resulting chaos. Playing the long game, he amassed a loyal following from other worlds - promising access to the dark matter technology helmed by Langradios. Ultimately turning the entire military of Langradios against the royal family, the palace was sieged - and the King and Queen were cut down, leaving a power vacuum ripe for the taking. Standing alone, would be Cerysia - the last spark of a noble lineage on the brink of extinction. From deep within the Imperial palace, Cerysia held off the advancing rebels hellbent on her demise for as long as her strength could muster. But no amount of dark matter-infused barriers could defend her position forever. Vastly outnumbered, and with no choice but to swallow her pride, the Princess had no choice but to escape the ruination surrounding her. Commandeering a small royal escort ship, Cerysia narrowly made it out of Langradios: carrying with her a wealth of guilt, anguish, and hatred. For at least two years, the Princess remained on the run - forever in flight across multiple planets, with the rebellion's forces hot on her heels at every turn. Their dedication to purging the last of the Avenheim name would remain ever-relentless. Through such circumstances, Cerysia was forced to mingle among the common folk of distant worlds. Her royal expectations and nobility would slowly begin to loosen up - yes, she still held her pride and dignified air, but she became more comfortable indulging in activities that she would have once considered far beneath her. As a more open-minded woman, free from the surrounds of noblesse, Cerysia certainly became a more open-minded Princess - but in her heart, who she was would remain absolute. The throne of Langradios required an Avenheim at the helm. To become Queen was to be her birthright. No rebellion or civilian frolicking would change that. Her ship one day landed upon the volcanic planet of Mas. A world ravaged by harsh terrain and the authoritarian order of a mechanical race of beings. It was one of the few worlds where even the rebellion forces from Langradios would refuse to set foot - and where the name Avenheim was, finally, anonymous. Within the markets of the seedy streets of Mas, Cerysia would lay eyes upon an elaborate greatsword that was up for grabs. The engraving was foreign, but she was told it meant 'Iniquity'. For as advanced in technology as the Masq race were, they cared little for this weapon. It was archaic in their eyes: worthless junk to be sold off for mere pennies. Yet Cerysia would exchange a paltry sum of coin for the sword nonetheless. Something about the intricate blade seemed to beckon her touch ... and until she returned to her ship, she wouldn't fathom why. Once safely away from the planet's atmosphere, Cerysia's fingertips traced over the weapon ... invertedly activating what lurked within it's cold steel. For the Iniquity played host to an artificial intelligence of particular esteem: the former King of the planet Mas. Having faced a similar uprising at the hands of the Masq race, this 'Ember King' processed the Princess' thoughts - reading her mind like an open book, and ultimately related to her own ordeal. Calling himself Shinsaku, the fallen King had their consciousness digitized into the metalwork of the Iniquity as a cruel punishment by the Masq. Refused the chance for vengeance, he instead rekindled the flame of desire in Cerysia's heart: granting her his fiery power through the blade. A reinvigorated confidence swept through the last of the Avenheim name. It was time for the runaway Princess to stop fleeing - and face her fears. It was time to fight back.
Time to reclaim her throne.
Trivia
Musings of Miscellany
" I don't care what you want. I don't care how many of you tiresome rebels I need to cut down. All I want is justice... to restore glory to the Avenheim name. "
She prefers blades, but isn't opposed to firearms or energy weapons if the situation calls for it. While her expertise on swords is peerless, she's by no means an expert on the latter.
She frequents a particular hot spring nestled deep within the Langradios Peaks, where most dare not to tread due to the rampant monster population. Then again, most aren't quite as equipped as the Princess.
Slowly but surely, she has adjusted to the presence of common folk near her - eschewing a lot of her royal 'properness' for the sake of her duty. Still, she tends to be rather high maintenance at times, particularly when it comes to her choice of food, or having to wait in queues.
Despite her less-than-royal circumstances these days, the Princess still holds a certain level of self-richeousness, looking down on those she views as 'beneath her' with disdain, unless they prove themselves useful in some manner.
During her time as Princess, she was very much an energetic girl - never straying too far from an opportunity to spar with the Empire's Soldiers, much to the behest of her parents. Suffice to say, her preference for getting her hands dirty is still abundant, even today.
While she has a bloody path to walk before her butt is nestled in the throne of Langradios, she vows to be a proactive ruler - personally taking action against those who go against her rather than sending lackeys. She's always been fond of taking matters into her own hands - especially since she's been left with little choice in the matter following her family's eradication.
She uses bespoke hair products to keep her snow white locks so lustrous. Of course, said bespoke hair products are still produced by the rebellion now occupying Langradios - hence, Cerysia frequently loots it from their clutches. Ah, yes... a woman with priorities.
